Below are the details on how to use the chrome extension to apply a template when creating a Jira ticket. There will be less need to clone tickets going forward.
Make sure you are using the latest version of the extension.
If anyone has any questions please let me know.
Follow the below steps to install and import the json file that will contain all the templates you may need.BitBucket Jira Templates
You can get the Extension available Chrome Store - Jira Templates
Menu Options to import file
Chrome menu top right Preferences Extensions Select “Details” on the Ticket Template for Jira Extension Extension Options
Show Options and then Share Your Template
You should choose to overwrite Once you upload the Json file you will get the below message Select “Save Options” You should also make sure you select to overwrite the previous text option.

An alternative way of adding a template is available via the right-click menu
Applying Templates to existing tickets
To apply the template to an existing ticket, you should:
- Copy the contents of the description
- Right-click and select the template
- Paste in the details in the relevant areas
