Troubleshooting - Fetch Error when loading a map overlay

 Support, I am receiving a FETCH ERROR in the portal when trying to load a map overlay in a particular cluster. Please Advise

Solution

  1. Attempting to recreate the issue while tailing the logs did not prove too helpful as there was no great detail in the logs for this issue.
  2. In reviewing old emails it was noted a cause for a FETCH ERROR was that the KML files were only present on 1 app handler and not another.
  3. To see if this was the cause of the issue the files were loaded onto the other app handler.
  4. Once the Noc portal was refreshed this resolved the error.
  5. If this is the case it is important to verify the correct functioning of lsync on the server - run through the self assessment here: Distributed File Sharing
  6. If you have verified that lsync is not running it is necessary to escalate this to a technical point of contact.
