Set up PPPoE Information on Juniper 5GT 101
— Colm Carew 2017/08/18 01:44
How To
Note for the Waterford Setup all Password and Information should be located inside the password safe - look for PPPoE
This is for if the VDSL router has been changed to modem mode and we need to enter the VDSL info onto the juniper 5GT 101
- Browse to the juniper router 10.5.5.1 and log in
- Go to Network → PPP → PPPoE Profile and click new
- Fill in the PPPoE Instance to be a suitable name
- Bound it to the untrust interface
- Username and password have to be obtained from the ISP (VLANID may also be given but should not be needed here)
- Change the netmask to be the netmask they provided (shouldn’t cause issue if left as default)
- Click save and if you click edit it should look similar to this:
- Next go to Network → Interfaces → Untrust and click edit on this
- The Obtain IP using PPPoE should be selected and the Name of the PPPoE profile should have been automatically selected from the dropdown
- The device should now be able to connect to the internet and have the public ip address assigned to the juniper router as the modem is not only a modem.
