These guidelines are documented here to ensure the files we add and work with on the servers are named and stored accordingly and removed when unnecessary to avoid confusion and build up of space.
Process for adding and working with new files
Files associated with support tickets - backups, queries etc. should be stored in /backup/support_logs/CC-1234 i.e. in a folder with the support ticket id.
Outage scripts should contain name of support ticket in their title to link them to ticketed work
Process for removing files
support_logs files should be cleared out by the owner of the support ticket after the support ticket is closed and no longer required
Wars should be removed when older than 2 sprints
Outage scripts older than 6 months should be cleared out providing they are no longer required.
A calendar event has been set up to remind every 3 months for a moderator to review the file system to ensure these processes are adhered to and to clear up unnecessary files.
