 +===== What is CBYD? =====
 +Author: Eoin Joy\\ \\
 +Call Before You Dig (CBYD) is a service by which a contractor or other company working in the field notifies their local Dig Center, and they in turn notify any parties who may or may not be affected by a dig in that area. Companies notified by a system like this include power, gas, water, and telecoms companies.\\
 +Errigal enables management of CBYD notifications (or Dig Tickets) received by Crown Castle through the Dig Portal application.\\
 +In the Dig Portal, a Dig Ticket is represented with a pin on a map, and its proximity to the network of fiber is also displayed as a number of feet.
 +==== States of a Dig Ticket ====
 +Dig Tickets have several states in the Dig Portal.These states are arranged in the workflow as follows:\\
 +{{:onboarding:digportal:digonboardingworkflow.png?nolink&800|}}
 +=== Pending (Dig Ticket Received) ===
 +A "Pending" ticket is one that has been just received and not actioned upon yet. A user of the Dig Portal will move this ticket to another state as they move through the queue of tickets
 +=== Update (Dig Ticket Update Received) ===
 +A ticket in the "Update" state may previously have been worked upon, but more up to date information has been received about this specific dig ticket.
 +=== Locate (Dig Ticket Locate Required) ===
 +If the user decides that a Dig Ticket is too close to the fiber and there may be a danger of a fiber cut, the ticket can be moved to the "Locate" state. Moving to this state sends an email to a contractor informing them of the need to visit the dig site and mark out on the ground where there is fiber underneath.
 +=== Clear (Dig Ticket Cleared) ===
 +If the user determines that this particular dig ticket is in no danger of damaging the fiber network, then the dig ticket is marked as "Clear" and no further actions are needed.
 +=== Closed (Dig Ticket Locate Completed) ===
 +Once a dig site has been located in the field, the status of the dig ticket can be moved beyond "Locate" to "Closed".\\
 +\\
 +Both Clear and Closed are valid ending states for Dig Tickets in the Dig Portal
